Those cats at the Southern Foodways Alliance (SFA) are at it again. Another exemplary short film about life in the South. In "Phat Tai" documentarian Joe York (Blessing of the Fleet) chronicles the lives of Peter and Sau Nguyen, Vietnamese fishermen now living and working on the Third Coast. The Nguyen's persevere and thrive after the fall of Saigon, Katrina and the BP oil spill. Peter Nguyen was the 2010 recipient of the Ruth Fertel Keeper of the Flame Award and accepted it on behalf of the Vietnamese-American shrimping community at the SFA's 2010 Symposium.
