Iron Chef Twins

Twins were everywhere on Iron Chef America as twin brothers Nicola and Fabrizio Carro entered Kitchen Stadium. Iron Chef Michael Symon was waiting with virtual twin Chef Michael Psilakis.  The mystery ingredient was lemon.

Michael Psilakis is no stranger to Kitchen Stadium after taking on Iron Chef Cat Cora back in season three in Battle Puff Pastry.  In 2008 he was named Bon Appétit’s Chef of the Year and his Manhattan Greek restaurant Anthos (along with partner Donatella Arpaia) was won many accolades.  Psilakis is one of the nation’s most dynamic chefs.

Twin brothers Nicola and Fabrizio Carro, natives of Piemonte, have brought their lush Northern Italian style with them to the Third Coast.  They have wow’d the movers and shakers in South Florida at their posh South Beach eatery Quattro.  Bon Appétit’s Andrew Knowlton raves saying, “The glitterati flock to the slick black and tan dining room that shimmers with glass chandeliers and wine bottles.  The vibe is typical South Beach scenery but the food is all substance.”

Michael Symon, since winning the first Next Iron Chef contest has quietly become the top Iron Chef in terms of winning percentage (minimum five battles).  Symon’s 83.3% winning margin edges out Iron Chef Mario Batali’s 79.2%

Joining the judges table was another set of twins, actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry who first came to fame in the sitcom Sister, Sister but have both gone to success individually appearing in numerous TV shows.
