Trio on the Bay - Dine, Then Dance in Miami

From Thrillist:

Teams of superstars always have creative names, like the Road Warriors and Jake the Snake combining to form the Legion of Doom, or the Flyers putting Mikael Renberg, John LeClair, and Eric Lindros on the same line to form the Legion of...OK, maybe they’re not all that creative. Thinking the Legion of Doom might not be the greatest name for a classy restaurant, the guys behind Trio on the Bay.

Opening April 4th but taking reservations now, Trio’s a sprawling upscale dining/ drinking/ dancing joint nestled on the north side of North Bay Village, put together by three industry heavy hitters (Louie Spetrini, Gerry Kelly, Klime Kovaceski), and offering a full-on nightlife scene once you polish off their New American cuisine with “Mediterranean touches”, which you're bound to enjoy, given those dudes' reputations as terrific lovers. Either inside in one of their five distinct dining areas (including one with Bay views), or outside in the courtyard with a Key West-shack-looking tiki hut, you can enjoy small plates like grilled calamari steaks with red/ banana peppers and white whine lemon butter sauce; pistachio-crusted goat cheese with braised endive, tomatoes, and white truffle oil; or phyllo that’s stuffed with cheese, which’s weird, because they usually put the now-dean in a dumpster. Getting bigger, they’ve got pizzas and sandwiches; entrees including roast maple leaf duck with raspberry demi-glaze and grilled asparagus, and pecan-crusted trout with oven-roasted sweet potatoes and smoked bacon & spinach; and stuff like lamb chops with apricot chutney “from the fire”, yet another kitchen task not to trust Billy Joel with. Dude drinks.

Once 11p rolls around, they gradually remove the tables as folks finish dinner to open up the space for dancing, with a couple sectionals remaining for bottle service. They’ll be hosting Fashion and Art Friday, and Kelly’ll be handling the show on Friday and Saturdays, with residencies from DJ Vertigo and DJ Irie, whose name implies he’s a member of the Legion of Plume.
