23rd Annual Strawberry Festival Loxley, AL

Each year the tiny Mayberry-esque Loxley, Alabama opens its arms to over 80,000 visitors during the Baldwin County Strawberry Festival.  This will make the 23rd year in a row the town has pitched in to raise to benefit the Loxley Elementary Schools and ARC of Baldwin County, Inc.

23 years ago when the festival started there were a handful of rafters and food vendors.  Back then the festival was held on the first Saturday in May and was located in downtown Loxley.  Today there are over 175 to chose from in addition to carnival, children's games, antique auto show, exhibits and plenty of live music.  The festival has moved to the Municipal Park on Hwy. 59.

In addition to the regular events, this year's festival features an antique tractor show.  Musical performances will be provided by Eddie McDaniels, Mustang Sally, Grits-N-Pieces, J R Owen and Darlawan.  The festival will be presided over by Little Miss Strawberry Pageant winner Chloe Noelle Theriot, who attends Daphne Elementary School in nearby Daphne, Alabama.

The 23rd Baldwin County Strawberry Festival takes place Saturday & Sunday April 10 & 11 from 9-5 each day at 4198 Municipal Park Drive in Loxley.  For more information contact Ron Johnson at ron@soundassoc.com.
